Hometown hero and former WA Champion Drew Ogle has bounced back in the best possible way tonight at the Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway, setting the fastest time in official practice ahead of the 2023 SSA Production Sedans WA State TItle.
Ogle, who was involved in a big crash at the venue just after Christmas burnt the midnight oil to get the car ready for this weekend and was rewarded with a $250 bonus courtesy of the Manjimup Speedway recording not just the fastest time of 21.025 (in the second practice session of the day), but also the second fastest time of 21.143 in the seventeenth session of practice.
Albany locals Aydan Trewern and Michael Clark were next best, with Cody and Kye Blight rounding out the top five fastest times overall.
Twenty one sessions were held in the two hour practice session, with forty three of the forty seven competitors scheduled to compete this weekend, the top thirty separated by less than a second in overall times.
Drivers will pass through scrutineering tomorrow morning starting at 8am, while racing begins tomorrow evening with the Grand Parade at 5.30pm, followed by racing in earnest starting at 6pm, with all drivers contesting three rounds of heats.
Times will remain the same for the Saturday night show, with drivers contesting one more round of heats followed by two B Mains and the all-important Title deciding forty lap final.
