An epic field of twenty four cars are set to converge on Heartland Raceway Moama this Saturday and Sunday night for the $10000 to win North South 50 and round eleven of the NSSS National Super Sedan Series.
The field includes three former National Champions, and eight former state champions, in what is a who’s who of the Super Sedan division.
Defending North South 50 winner Steve Jordan returns to Moama to defend his crown in the same car he won last year’s race. Jordan will look to become the first time winner come feature time on Sunday night.
Mick Nicola Jnr is the other driver that can say he is a North South 50 winner, and also will be looking to become a two time winner and claim the $10000 winners prize on Sunday night.
Four time National Champion Matty Pascoe has come third in both editions of the North South 50, and will look to go two better on Sunday night to add another blue ribbon race win to his impressive career resume.
His son Brad Pascoe has been on fire all over the country this season. Pascoe has claimed four feature wins, and will be chasing another $10000 pay day on Sunday night having already claimed victories in the Grand Prix and Grand National this season.
Dave Gartner has returned to form of late claiming a podium finish in the National Title at Albany, and winning the WA Title at Mount Barker the following week. Gartner will look to build on this success with a big pay day come Sunday night.
American Ace Jesse Sobbing is also in the field and will chase the $10000 winners prize in his first trip ‘Down Under’. Sobbing will campaign the Atkins Family Racing owned Insane Chassis and will look to make an impression in Moama.
Matt Williams is one of the countries most exciting drivers, and he returns to Moama after suffering a massive roll over in his last visit in 2022. Williams is no stranger to big pay days, and will hope to keep his TaylorMade Chassis on all four wheels and take the $10000 back to Rockhampton.
Racing will get underway on Saturday. Drivers will take on two heat races each to set the fields for two twenty lap preliminary feature races.
Drivers will return on Sunday night for a further two rounds of heats which will set the field for the fifty lap North South 50 main event!
