Six Time South Australian Super Sedan Champion Dave Gartner has claimed victory in the Graham Cowland 42 last night at the Murray Bridge Speedway.
After a race long battle with Victorian Ash Bergmeier and two time National Champion Callum Harper, the driver from Penola in South Australia took victory in the race that honours the late Graham Cowland, a long time Super Sedan competitor from South Australia.
Murray Bridge local Paul Blenkiron would be out early in the event before Victorian Champion Jamie Collins would retire on lap nineteen.
Bergmeier hit the lead on lap twenty three before Gartner found the car speed required to take back the lead on lap thirty seven.
A green white chequer finish wouldn’t unsettle the driver of the GT Bobcat Dominator taking the win from Bergmeier, Harper with Lucas Roberts and Kym Hammerstein rounding out the top five.
Dave Gartner will tonight try and win the South Australian State Title for a record seventh time.
