There was no doubt Peter Dowie had nothing to lose this weekend, and with leaving nothing on the table he not only won the final round of the ODH Mechanical Tri-City Series at the Perth Motorplex, but also come home with the overall series championship.

In what was nothing short of a dream weekend for the Geraldton driver, Dowie started off pole and would win with a thrilling final corner pass over Hayden Norman and Blake Iwanow.

While Dowie and Norman would try and steal the show from the start as both drivers ran side by side for most of the main event. There was a great battle also going on behind them for the last spot on the podium.

Behind the lead pair, Jake Hoath, Matt and Blake Iwanow, Ben Norman, Donny Davis and Damon Lyall would put on slide job clinic, with no driver actually taking control of third place.

The race would settle down with two laps to go when Damon Thomsons would break a wheel hub, thus brining Iwanow and Lyall back with a shot at the win.

Coming to the checkered flag Dowie and Lyall both let it all hang out, with Dowie pipping Norman by 0.081 at the line while Iwanow was able to get back by Lyall for third.

With Dowie’s victory and yet another bad night at the Motorplex for Jamie Oldfield, Dowie would also take the $4,500 overall series championship from Oldfield and Ben Norman.
