Victorian Brock Atkins has won round eight of the McCosker Super Sedan Series brought to you by Kempy Race Pipes at McCosker Gladstone Speedway.

Sam Hughes kicked his night off with a great win after starting from eighth on the grid. Hughes led home New South Welshman Tyson Moon in second, and Hayden Brims in third.

Zac Brims got his night off to strong start with a win in heat two. Atkins was next across the line in second, ahead of Matt Williams in third.

Williams dismantled the field in heat three, crossing the line eight and a half seconds clear of Harry Doyle in second, and Tania Smith in third.

Bob McCosker got a win on the track that he operates in heat four. McCosker led the way from Atkins in second, and Hayden Brims in third.

Hughes won a thrilling photo finish in heat five, crossing the line 0.015 seconds clear of Atkins in second, and Williams in third.

Zac Brims picked up his second win of the night in the final heat race, leading the way from his brother Hayden Brims in second, and Justin Randall in third.

Atkins trio of second place finishes secured him pole position for the twenty lap A Main, with Zac Brims set to start on the outside of the front row.

Atkins and Brims went through turns one and two side by side, and Brims powered around the outside out of turn two to take the lead down the back straight.

Brims ran wide in turn three, allowing Atkins through on the inside to lead at the end of lap one.

Zac and Hayden crossed the line side by side at the end of lap one. Zac used the momentum on the top side of the track to clear away into second on lap two.

Hayden ran in third, with Hughes, Moon and Victorian Ash Bergmeier giving chase to the lead trio.

Moon moved to fourth as he crossed the line to start lap three, relegating Hughes to fifth.

Brims ranged up on the back of Atkins for the lead in turns three and four, Atkins thwarted the challenge and cleared away from the chasing pack.

Atkins got better as the race went on, and was able to go on to greet the chequered flag for his first victory of the season relatively unchallenged.

Zac Brims crossed the line second, ahead of his brother Hayden in third. Moon was next across the line in fourth ahead of Hughes who rounded out the top five.

Bergmeier finished sixth after a tight tussle with Doyle in seventh. Randall was next across the line eighth, from Ryan Cats in ninth, and Mark Pagel in tenth.

The McCosker Super Sedan Series will return on the 17th of February with round nine at Lismore Speedway.
