Shane Whild took out the inaugural T&C Supplies ‘Southern Street Stock Showdown’ last night at Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway with a thrilling drive in the 30-lap feature. Local driver Paul Bowman who was consistent all night took home second place, with Trent Claybrook in third.
There were six action packed heats across the night. Trent Claybrook and Shane Whild both had two heat wins to their name and local drivers in Paul Bowman and Peter Herbert also landed themselves in victory lane. Tim Coxall’s night came to a spectacular end in Heat 2 when, whilst comfortably leading the field, he found himself airborne. With the car receiving terminal damage, Coxall would take no further part in the remainder of the night.
There was plenty of action across the field during the feature and Matthew Iwanow managed to get himself to the front of the pack. Unfortunately, his car had issues late in the race and he was forced to retire. This paved the way for Whild who powered away from the field to take home the win.
It was terrific to see such a strong field of local and visiting drivers supporting the inaugural T&C Supplies ‘Southern Street Stock Showdown.’ We look forward to continuing to build this event for the 24/25 season.
