Although it was the last meeting for Ellenbrook Speedway’s 2020 season today, the action on track was some of the best seen all season.

SSA Junior Sedans were competing for the Fab Martinelli Cup, doubling as Round One of the JSRA Series and in the Top Stars it was home track hero Beau Oldfield who dominated proceedings, recording three heat wins to start on pole for the fifteen lap feature, then leading every lap to claim the feature win.

Behind him for much of the race was Riley Hanson in second place followed by Elysha Cooper and Moora’s Taj Vanzetti who fought hard for third, side by side for the entire distance.

Unfortunately for Hanson, he headed infield in sight of the chequered flag, seeing Cooper grab second place at the finish while Narrogin’s Brody Day stole third in the dying stages to round out the podium.

The SSA New Star Junior Sedans saw Jack Tarandetti and Jesse James Samuels share the heat wins, with Tarandetti taking the lead into the feature race.

He was able to survive a mid race stoppage to grab the win while rookie driver Jayden Haddon, in his first ever race meeting, raced past Samuels to grab second in the feature, Samuels was able to hold on for third.

In the SSA Street Stocks, it was Evan Wakefield who bested Warren Oldfield on the start in the feature, then put on an absolute clinic as he pulled away to win by over eight seconds from Oldfield.

Stefani Ameduri started in position nine and raced her way through the field to round out the podium by races end.

Finally it was the SSA Production Sedans on track, with last start winner Hayden Norman again at the front and taking the lead early in the race.

He was pursued by Josh Fraser, the duo pulling away from the rest after a mid race restart and Fraser then making his move to grab the lead at the half way point.

Norman then reclaimed the lead two laps later , the two still by side in every turn.

Third placed Ricky Williams pulled infield with two to go, just as Fraser reclaimed the lead once again, and despite his best efforts Norman was unable to regain the position, Fraser defeating Norman, with Wayne Leviston in third.

This brings the Ellenbrook Speedway season to a close, with their next event scheduled for January, 2021.
