Speedway Sedans Western Australia have finalised the field for upcoming 2022 Karratha Machinery Hire SSA Production Sedan WA State Title to be held at the Nickol Bay Speedway on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th June 2022.
Fifty five entries have been received for the 25th anniversary of the event with the field the biggest for a Speedway Sedans Western Australia State Title in the Northern Zone of the state.
The Nickol Bay Speedway is located sixteen hundred kilometres North of Perth with a large chunk of the field representing some of the most remote speedway clubs in the country.
Manjimup’s Drew Ogle finally has the opportunity to the defend the title he won in Moora back in March of 2021 as is joined in the field by 2018 WA Champion Barry Rose who has been the runner up in two out of the last three state titles.
Former placegetters Josh Fraser (3rd Moora 2021), Rick Musarra (Runner up Broome 2017), Beau Riley (3rd Broome 2017 & Ellenbrook 2019), Jamie Graham (3rd Bunbury 2020) & Kyle Sayer (Runner up Albany 2015 & Collie 2018) are all in the field with Sayer being the dominate competitor in the class for a number of years in the West.
Kane McDiarmid, Benny Curtin, Hayden Norman and Karratha local Jack McAuley all loom as strong chances for a podium result in what is a high quality field.
Esperance Speedway Association President Josh Macalpine will travel the furthest distance to compete in the event, with a five thousand kilometre round trip ahead of the driver from the South East corner of the state.
*Prefixes for the number clashes will be allocated closer to the event.
