Proceedings for the 2021/2022 SSA Production Sedan Western Australian State Title will commence tomorrow afternoon with official practice from 4-6pm at the Nickol Bay Speedway in Karratha.

Fifty one competitors will converge on the Nickol Bay Speedway which is located sixteen hundred kilometres North of Perth, with a large chunk of the field representing some of the most remote speedway clubs in the country.

Rare “dry season” rainfall inundated the Pilbara region earlier in the week, with organisers spending the last few days getting the venue ready to host the 25th anniversary of the WA Production Sedan State Title.

Manjimup’s Drew Ogle finally has the opportunity to the defend the title he won in Moora back in March of 2021 as is joined in the field by 2018 WA Champion Barry Rose who has been the runner up in two out of the last three state titles.

Former placegetters Josh Fraser (3rd Moora 2021), Rick Musarra (Runner up Broome 2017), Beau Riley (3rd Broome 2017 & Ellenbrook 2019), Jamie Graham (3rd Bunbury 2020) & Kyle Sayer (Runner up Albany 2015 & Collie 2018) are all in the field with Sayer being the dominate competitor in the class for a number of years in the West.

Kane McDiarmid, Benny Curtin, Hayden Norman and Karratha local Jack McAuley all loom as strong chances for a podium result in what is a high quality field.

Esperance Speedway Association President Josh Macalpine along with fellow club members Jeff Dickerson & Dwayne Meagher will travel the furthest distance to compete in the event, with a five thousand kilometre round trip ahead of the drivers from the South East corner of the state.

Racing is scheduled to commence from 7pm local time on Saturday & Sunday evenings with Street Stocks & Junior Sedans also on the program.

A PPV live stream is available of both nights of competition courtesy of the team at Ash Media.
