Press Release by WA Modified Sedans
The Moora Speedway Club in WA’s Central Midlands will yet again host the opening round of the Batchelor Industries WA Modified Sedan Series when the 2022/2023 edition of the series fires into action this Saturday night.
The event, which is proudly supported by RPM Race Products has attracted a healthy field of thirteen drivers from all over the state, including from Albany in the state’s Great Southern and Carnarvon in WA’s Gascoyne region.
Fresh off a win earlier this month at Narrogin Speedway, Sam McAuley will enter this weekend’s event as one of the firm favourites and will no doubt be working hard to ensure his potent VK Holden Commodore is at the front of the field for the feature.
Working hard to stop McAuley’s charge will be Luke Fraser who has won the opening feature race of the WA Modified Sedan Series for the last two seasons, including last year at Moora.
Fraser will yet again be joined by brother Branden, a multiple WA Modified Sedan Series champion and former WA Modified Sedan state champion who will hope for a better start to the 2022/2023 series.
Also looking to spoil the party will be WA Modified Drivers Association President, Anthony King, who called Moora home for many years.
King will no doubt have the support of the local crowd and will hope to use this to his advantage on Saturday night. Shane Dubberlin, Laurie Dowsett, Adam Houston, Glenn Harper and uncle and nephew duo of Jason and Jamie Higgs will also be looking to kickstart their 2022/2023 series campaigns with a strong result this weekend and will be joined by Shark Bay’s Michael Ricetti.
The final entrants for this weekend’s event are drivers who need no introduction having preciously competed regularly in the WA Modified Sedan Series.
Former WA Modified Sedan state champion Steve Beres of Albany and Carnarvon veteran Kim Jolly will rejoin the series this weekend in Moora and will be drivers to keep an eye out for when all drivers take to the track for three heat races, the top six shootout and all important twenty lap feature race.
Racing gets underway from 6pm this Saturday evening at Moora Speedway Club with a full wrap up to be posted on Sunday.
