Just one week after Branden Fraser claimed the fourth round of the Civil Hirings WA Modified Sedan Series at Narrogin Speedway, the series now heads to the south-west venue of Augusta-Margaret River Speedway for round five on Sunday evening.
Despite the short turn around, a quality field of Modified Sedan drivers have again entered for the round, which signals the beginning of the final half of the series. With just three rounds remaining, Branden Fraser will look to win his third round in succession, though he will be again up against some strong competition.
Heat racing this season has proven how level the playing field in WA Modified Sedans is, with five different heat race winners from six heats in Narrogin last weekend. Paul Stevens has proven that he has what it takes to win heat races, as well as the Southern Stump and Mulching Services Shootout, though is yet to find himself on the top step of the podium in feature races.
Rick Musarra and Coby Stevens have shown that when it comes to feature races they are ultra-consistent, with the pair finishing on the podium on multiple occasions already this season. Stevens will be getting plenty of laps under her belt this weekend as she competes in not only Round 5 of the Civil Hirings WA Modified Sedan Series, but also the Queen of the River event and will no doubt use this to her advantage.
There are a number of other drivers who were on the edge of success last weekend, with Calon Ball, Ashley Baker, Jayke Malcolm and Adam Houston all within striking distance of a podium finish in Narrogin and no doubt looking to continue this fine form into Margaret River on Sunday.
Jeff Steele is a notable inclusion in this weekends field, with the Broome based former state champion always at the pointy end of the field and no doubt looking to stand on the top step of the podium for the first time this season.
Racing will get underway from 5pm this Sunday evening at Augusta-Margaret River Speedway and is proudly supported by Performance Lubricants, who have come on board to support WA Modified Sedan racing in 2019/2020.
