Twenty five of Western Australia’s best SSA Modified Sedans will head to the Coalfields region of Western Australia this weekend to contest the 2020/2021 SSA Modified Sedan WA State Title at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway.
The event was originally meant to be held in early February but with much of Western Australia going into lockdown at the time, the State Title was rescheduled to be held this Friday & Saturday Night.
A fantastic entry list littered with enormous talent has entered, with the field the biggest for a Modified Sedan State Title in the West since 2014.
Branden Fraser defends the title he won at Kalgoorlie in February 2020 with one of his biggest challengers to wrestle the WA1 plate away will most likely come in the form of his younger brother Luke Fraser who has won two rounds of the Blackman Fabrication WA Modified Sedan Series this season.
Former WA State Champions in SSA Modified Sedans Brendan Selleck (2008 at Kalgoorlie), Allan Mortimer (2009 at Esperance), Matt Noakes (2016 at Collie) and Anthony King (2018 at Narrogin) would all love to add a second State Title to their names this weekend.
Albany’s Sean Theyer along with Nathan Penn, Kevin Ellement and Rick Musarra have all been on the podium previously and are in this weekend’s field along with Laurie Dowsett who won the WA Modified Sedan Series round at Collie just prior Christmas.
Production Sedan standouts Kyle Sayer, Josh Stewart and Jack McAuley from Karratha are making the splash into the class for the State Title and are going to relish the challenge aboard their Holden Commodores.
Each competitor will contest three ten lap heat races on Friday Night before one more round of heat racing and the forty lap A Main to be held on Saturday Night.
Great fields of SSA Production Sedans, SSA Street Stocks and SSA Junior Sedans will be in action across both nights of competition.
