Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway located on the South Coast of Western Australia will play host to the 42nd running of the 2021/2022 Batchelor Industries SSA Modified Sedan WA State Title on Saturday evening.
The biggest field seen for the event since 2014 will battle it out at the venue that many call the spiritual home of Modified Sedans in the West.
Jayke Malcolm won the WA State Title in Collie last March in what was only his second season in the class where he held off the fast finishing Luke Fraser by just 0.027 of a second at the end of the forty laps.
Former Winners Branden Fraser (2020 in Kalgoorlie), Anthony King (2018 in Narrogin), Aydan Trewern (2015 in Carnarvon), Allan Mortimer (2009 in Esperance) & Brendan Selleck (2008 in Kalgoorlie) are all in the field chasing a second State Title.
Trewern has concentrated on racing in Production Sedans in recent times to much success, although did collect victory in the last feature race for Modified Sedans in Albany back on new years day.
Luke Fraser has been the form driver of the season in the KCM Transport WA Modified Sedan Series winning three of the four rounds that have been contested this season aboard his season.
Albany locals Laurie Dowsett, Jason Batchelor, Rowan Burrell, Merv Penn along with siblings Calon & Miranda Ball will relish the opportunity to race in a State Title on home turf.
Official Practice is scheduled from 4-6pm Friday afternoon with racing from 6pm on Saturday Night.
Each competitor will contest three ten lap qualifying heats ahead of the forty lap A Main. SSA Production Sedans, SSA Street Stocks & SSA Junior Sedans are all apart of the race program.
