The Speedway Sedans Australia, National Super Sedan Title is now officially less than a week away, with forty six drivers set to converge on the Heartland Raceway, Moama.

One of those drivers, Trent Wilson, from Alligator Creek, which is situated 20km south east of Townsville in North Queensland will make the 2445km trip to contest his third National Title.

The thirty five year old Maintenance Mechanic, will drive a 2018 Sweet Chassis at the National Title, after previously competing at the National Titles at Archerfield and Murray Bridge.

Wilson has been racing Speedway for nineteen years, eleven of those in Super Sedans.

I have raced two or three times at Moama. I finished fourth in the Victorian Title in 2014, it was pretty rough and a lot of fun, but I have been there also when it has been gut slick, and I have not enjoyed it, Wilson said.

It is an awesome field of the best drivers in the country, it is a nice wide track, and I am hoping for clear cool weather, Wilson added.

One thing every driver appears to agree on, is the qualifying heats are the key, banking all important points. You must move forward every heat, and stay out of trouble, if I can do that I can make the show. I have not qualified for the two previous Aussie Titles, Wilson said.

Wilson by his own admission has had an inconsistent season, not all by his own doing. Matty Pascoe built us a brand new Sweet TB2 October 2018 (awesome car, absolutely love it) and I have not finished any worse than fourth in all races we have finished. We finished third on the first night of the Brims Concrete Series at Toowoomba, since then have had two rain outs, two cancellations, two first lap DNFs and have been plagued by carburettor issues all season, which we have fixed, and we are ready to take on the National Title at Moama. Wilson explained.

I am really looking forward to racing against Mat Pascoe, Sean Black, Darren Kane, really any one that you can race clean with, he adds.

Like most, Wilson lists Harper, Pascoe, Kane and Sean Black as the drivers to beat, but admits that there are as many as twenty drivers that are super fast and can potentially win the title.

My ambition for the Title is to qualify for the A Main, and in the top ten is my realistic goal. From there on the podium or top five would be great, he concludes.

A huge thanks to Mum and Dad and my wife Lauren for everything they do. None of this would be possible without them.
