Jacob Mills might not be a name that you would associate with Street Stock racing, and there may be some people who have not even heard of him, but that will all change next weekend, when the highly talented driver from Wodonga takes part in the Speedway Sedans Australia, Coopers, National Street Stock Title, at Adelaide Motorsports Park.

Mills will pilot the Patriot Motorsports Team FG Ford Falcon in the event, which will be Mills first Street Stock Title, having competed in three National Production Sedan Titles.

The last one was only last year, finishing second to my
father Trevor Mills in Production Sedans, and it was the first meeting back after the passing of my oldest brother Brenton, and was one of the hardest weekends to stay focused, and it was an emotional to do it in Brentons honour, which is what got me to where I was in that final, but hearing that crowd and seeing everyone against the fence after such a fairy tale ending for Dad and I, was very over whelming and something I will never forget. I also gained a lot of respect for Speedway Sedans Australia for a few things they did over the weekend for us. The speedway family really got together that weekend and helped Dad and I get through it, Mills said.

Mills is looking forward to getting back into this FG Falcon and doing his best for the whole Ppatriot Motorsport team and catching up with everyone over the weekend.

Everyone wants to win, but with so many people entered it is going to be tough, but am confident with the Patriot Motorsports FG we can get into the A Main and hopefully be in that top five cars battling it out to be number one, Mills adds.

Having never raced at A.M.P before Mills is really looking forward to racing at a new venue. I have not raced there but Patriot Motorsports have with Mark Jennings driving, and they won the feature. I’m really looking forward to racing around Adelaide Motorsport Park, Mills said. I had a practice late last year in the FG and had then had to step aside as the driver for patriot Motorsport due to few unsuspected things come my way, and also birth of my second child early this year, he continued.

Mills himself will be a hard driver to beat, but believes perennial finalist Anthony Beare, Mark Jennings and Robbie Faux, will all be hard to beat, with all three also being former National Champions.

Reg and Kat Corbett, the car owners will be leaving on the Tuesday and I will be leaving Wednesday, we live in Wodonga Victoria, and the trip will take about 9 hours, hopefully my older brother Matt comes with us, and to pass time will be just making the most of this trip and the experience and having a good time, Mills concludes.

The 24 year old, is one of 122 drivers entered for the event, and has been competing since the age of twelve.

Patriot Motorsports are one of three New South Wales Street Stock registered cars heading to this National Title and the whole team are proud heading into this title, doing it for New South Wales and promoting Street Stock in New South Wales.
