The Tassie Tiger Super Sedan Trail heads South for the first time this weekend for the AutoKlene Super Sedan Grand National at AutoKlene Hobart Raceway.
Twenty seven drivers will be backing up after the Grand Prix, with four states being represented this weekend.
Defending Grand National winner and new Tasmanian Champion Matty Pascoe will be hoping to move closer to the front after his fifth place finish in the Grand Prix last weekend. Pascoe has won the last two editions of the event and four times overall.
Callum Harper will go into the Grand National as one of the favourites, after winning the Grand Prix last weekend.
Harper has won the Grand National twice, greeting the chequers in 2017 and 2019.
He will be hoping to take home another big pay day, heading into the National Title. Harper didn’t have it all his own way in the Grand Prix, with Steve Latham taking the lead on a couple of occasions throughout the race.
Latham was victorious in the divisions only visit to Hobart this season, and will be looking to go one better for his home town fans.
Another former winner in the field this weekend is David Nichols.
Nichols has won the Grand National six times including four in a row during the nineties.
He last won the event in 2000, and will be hoping to bounce back after fading in the feature at the Grand Prix after starting third.
Drivers will take on three heats and a fifteen lap preliminary feature on the first night, before another two heats, the pole shuffle and fifty lap A Main on night two.
