The Allwest Plant Hire Ellenbrook Speedway located on the northern outskirts of Perth in Western Australia played host to a big afternoon of racing earlier today.
Beautiful sunny winter season conditions were on hand for competitors and spectators alike which lead to a bumper day of racing.
Twenty One Production Sedans took part in proceedings as both Josh Fraser and Hayden Norman collected two heat race wins over the course of the day to qualifying on the front row for the main event.
Fraser would lead all fifteen laps from Norman as Mitch Killeen worked his way into the third place by the end of the race after earlier enduring a disappointing day in the RPM Race Products Holden Commodore.
A relative small field of fourteen Street Stocks were in action as Brad Roberts took his Holden Commodore to three wins from three starts during the afternoon.
Roberts was unable to replicate his earlier form as he fell back into the third place in the early laps as Ben Norman controlled the race in his Prestige Installations Ford Falcon.
Four Time Western Australian Champion Jamie Oldfield who started from position for the feature race after sitting out most of the day’s competition moved into second place before a stoppage for the spun Aaron Sutton set up an interesting finish to the race.
Oldfield took the lead from Norman when the race resumed as Norman spun to the infield in sight of the white flag as Brendan Vanzetti inherited second with James Lawton took third on the final lap as Oldfield collected the win.
Thirty four Junior Sedans across Top Stars & New Stars put on an action packed day of action as Western Australian Champion Beau Oldfield & Jesse James Samuels had a great battle for the lead throughout the Merger Contracting backed twenty lap finale.
Oldfield held off Samuels as Jayden Heelan enjoyed a consistent day to round the podium in the Top Star section. Manjimup’s Colby Bosley defeated Kaden Harrison & Collie’s Levi Crowe in a bumper field of New Stars.
The next race meeting for the Allwest Plant Hire Ellenbrook Speedway will be in four weeks time on Sunday 24th July 2022.
