Speedway Sedans Australia would like to acknowledge the passing of Mick Fitzgerald overnight.

Mick, amongst many things in Speedway was a long standing club person and President of the Horsham Motorsports Club/Blue Ribbon Raceway at Horsham in Victoria.

Mick lead the charge of his troops in hosting this years National Modified Sedan Title, which to this day I rate in the top two of all National Titles I have been involved in through my time, said Greg Lynd, CEO of Speedway Sedans Australia earlier today.

Today we have lost another terrific speedway person who volunteered their time to our great sport.

Mick for quite a few years now has participated at many a State and National Title as part of our team and for that we will be forever grateful! The bloke was a legend, he loved what he did and it showed! His commitment, his terrific nature and most of all the genuine characteristics of a bloke we could all call a mate will be sorely missed, Lynd continued.

Mick was very well respected in all aspects of speedway around Victoria and beyond. His passing leaves a huge hole in our speedway community, said Victorian Board Member Rod Meakins.

Speedway Sedans Australia wish to extend their condolences to Micks Family at this difficult time
