Running into the final few restarts of a caution filled feature, Brody Christie would lose power and fall back before eventually retiring infield.
Todd Atkins would unfortunately suffer much the same, as the HA36 struggled to run, pulling him from his second place push for the lead.
Atkins would fall to the rear, before driving back up to position six at one stage.
David Smith opened up a huge margin back to new second place holder, Wade McCarthy who had muscled past Nick Cockerill in the closing stages of the tiresome A Main.
Positions would stay much the same coming to the line in the shortened 20 lap feature.
David Smith would make it three in a row for Di Watson Memorials and an hour he was proud to take home for the Mildura 19 team.
Second place would be Wade Mccarthy in an all-Mildura top two. Third would be Nick Cockerill who left no question unanswered.
While Kye Walters made the most of the injury plagued field to finish a strong fourth place feeling the points battle leaning further his way.
Russel Felsovary and Graham West would dogfight for positions five and six while Todd Atkins would be the last car to finish in seventh.
A Main DNF list would be Brody Chrystie, Jay Nicholaisen, Rachel Pratt, Jonathan Knight, Harley Nicholaisen, Toby Carmichael and Daniel Simpson.
All while series contenders Brock Atkins (1st), Andrew Blackwell (3rd) and Brad Wicks (4th) would all not start the scheduled 30 lap A Main.
