Over two huge nights this weekend just gone, Broome Speedway played host to their annual Shinju Matsuri race meeting and from start to finish the racing was fierce, with plenty of action, drama and some of the closest finishes seen this season.

In the SSA Top Star Junior Sedans, Australian Champion Harrison Beres made the long trip up from Albany and showed exactly why he wears the crown, taking the win ahead of Joel Bowman and Max Lang. The New Stars were just as entertaining, with Blake McGaffin scoring the victory, followed home by Brinley McGaffin Jr. and Kurtis Eades.

The SSA Modified Sedans feature belonged to Ray Clifton, who kept Jeff Steele and Liam Mackenzie behind him to claim top spot, while in the SSA Street Stocks it was Jake Hoath grabbing the win over Lenny Bates and Curt Harris in what was a huge twenty three car field, though just eight would last the distance.

The SSA Production Sedans produced the finish of the night despite having one of the smallest Sedan fields: Shane Doust was right in the thick of it before running wide and into the wall, leaving Jhye Kent and Odin Smith side by side to the line. The slightest bit of contact straightened Jhye up and pushed him forward just enough to claim the win in a nail-biter, with Smith second and Ayden Mills rounding out the podium.

Congratulations to Broome Speedway for a well run event, the team now taking a rest before returning for their season finale on October 18th.
