The rescheduled 2021/2022 SSA Street Stock Queensland State Title will finally be contested this Saturday Night at the Australia’s most unique venue, the Gympie Speedway.
Originally scheduled for to be held in late November 2021, thirty four entries from four different states and one territory have been received for the second attempt to hold the event this season.
This weekend’s race meeting will be just the eighth time the SSA Street Stock Queensland State Title has been and just the occasion the Gympie Saloon Car Club have hosted the event.
Victorian Matt Nelson will be looking for his third victory in a row in the Queensland State Title after winning the last two held at Toowoomba & Kingaroy respectively.
Mount Gambier’s Jason Duell returns to Queensland after collecting the main event victory during the Kings Royal weekend in the SSA Street Stock competition with competitors from Victoria, New South Wales and Jack Yates from the Northern Territory all in the field.
Local Queensland drivers in solid form this season include Darren Ciesiolka, Luke Wilkinson, Nathan Barbeler & Robert Trapp who won the State Title back in 2018 at Blackwater.
A huge night of Speedway Sedan racing will be on the program in Gympie with Round Ten of the 2021/2022 McCosker Super Sedan Series and a great field of SSA Modified Sedans sure to provide great support to the Queensland State Title.
Racing gets underway at 5pm.
