Kyle Sayer received a lucky break late in the Production Sedan Feature Race at the Quit Collie Speedway on Saturday, which enabled him to take his first Feature win of the season.
Sayer would start the main event as the South West venue behind Beau Riley and Wayne Leviston, immediately moving to second after the opening lap.
In an excellent race, Leviston fought back as the lead trio moved away from the remainder of the field.
A restart was required when Adam Bosnjak spun in turn three, bunching the field for the final ten laps.
Beau Riley was able to open a small gap of the remainder of the field, and looked destined for victory until Lawson Mayes spun at the exit of turn four and was unable to restart. While Mayes was being towed from the track, Riley suffered a flat tyre and was forced to retire.
Sayer, who had moved back to second place, then held off Wayne Leviston and Richard Nelson in the final three laps to take the win.
Earlier Graeme Rafferty won the opening heat, while Riley won heat two. He would follow that up by winning heat three, with Wayne Leviston taking heat four. Sayer and Leviston would win the final two heats, with heat six marred by a heavy crash with Graeme Rafferty hitting the fence in turn one, suffering significant damage to his car.
