As has so often been the case in recent months, Barry Rose has once again claimed the feature win, this time at Ellenbrook Speedway for the opening meeting of their season.
As the feature race went green, cars went everywhere, with turn two seeing a pile of six cars spinning and hitting each other to bring out the yellows for the first time in the race. This would leave three cars on the infield and twelve to have a go at starting the feature race for the second time.
The second attempt would indeed end up much better, with Jayden McCuish and State Champion Barry Rose fighting it out, but it would only last a lap as a few more cars came together on lap two and set up a single file restart with just one complete.
Take three and it was the little Sigma of Rose that relished the track conditions, taking over the point and running away from McCuish, while WA#3 Wayne Leviston moved into third place.
Bruce Bell was also having a great run, coming through the pack to be sitting in fourth but up front it was Rose pulling further and further away.
As the laps wound down and Rose widened the gap, the battle was on for second with Leviston tailing McCuish, the duo side by side with just two laps remaining. Just as Rose claimed the chequers though a number of cars came together in turn one, seeing the race declared, Rose the official winner ahead of McCuish and Leviston.
The next show at Ellenbrook Speedway for Production Sedans will be the 20th of May.
