Aidan Raymont has raced home to win his third successive round of the Modified Sedan Summer of Speed Series after a brilliant drive at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway.
In front of a huge Toowoomba crowd, Raymont who started from position 15 in the feature quickly moved to the top of the race track and began his surge forward through the field.
Only a few laps into the race, Raymont had quickly passed a majority of the field as he engaged in combat with early race leaders Darran Lester, Mick Shelford and Rodney Pammenter.
The four would battle lap after lap that ultimately saw Raymont continue on the high line around the fence to pass Darran Lester for the lead. Lester wouldn’t go away, and settled for a second place finish, just ahead of Rodney Pammenter.
After winning the B Main, Brodie Boss also showed a massive amount of speed to finish forth in the feature. Mick Shelford finish fifth ahead of Max Clarke, Greg Worling, Nathan MacDonald, JoshCrang and Stephen Geritz.
After the feature race, the top ten finishes went into a random draw to the win a $1,000 bonus prize thanks to our major sponsor Queensland Support Services & Solutions and this was won by Greg Worling.
Earlier in the night heat wins went the way of Rodney Pammenter (2), Darran Lester(2), Stephen Geritz, Mick Shelford, Greg Worling and Jason Boss.
David Head had a massive rollover during the b-main when his XF Falcon bicycled off a very hooky surface into a violent series of rolls.
Head walked away unhurt and he and the team are confident they’ll have the car repaired for tomorrow nights series grand final at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane on Sunday 3 January.
