Queensland’s Aidan Raymont has powered to victory in the sixth running of the Toowoomba Steering & Suspension T-Bar Nationals held last night at the Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway.

Raymont bested over fifty Modified Sedans who were on hand from all over Australia chasing the five figure payday with Raymont’s win the third time he has tasted victory in the event.

Newly crowned Queensland champion Max Clarke shared the front row with Raymont for the thirty five lap main event as twenty four cars faced the green flag.

Clarke led the early laps before Raymont found a way past on lap fourteen as the Modified Sedans hussled around the high banks.

A great battle pack keep the leaders in sight with former Queensland champion Nathan Macdonald, Kingaroy’s Josh Harm along with Victorian’s Brody Chrystie, Dylan Barrow & Brad Wicks all in contention.

It was lap nineteen before the first stoppage of the race occurred when Western Australian Luke Fraser & Kent Menzies came to a stop in turn three.

Immediately after the restart Max Clarke wrestled back the lead as the Modified Sedans raced two & three wide for the minor placings.

Victorian Champion Brad Wicks worked the top side of the race track to perfection moving into third place with nine laps to run before passing both Raymont & Clarke to hit the lead.

Clarke, Raymont & Wicks would be three wide for the lead as the laps wound down with Josh Harm staying in contention throughout the battle.

Raymont took back the lead with three laps remaining running the bottom side of the Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway as Wicks continued with the outside line.

It would be Raymont’s five figure payday as he crossed the line 0.157 of a second clear of a gallant Wicks with Josh Harm, Max Clarke and Nathan Macdonald rounding out the top five.

In what was one of the all time great Modified Sedan races seen at the venue Raymont was delighted in victory lane thanking his family and crew along with the host venue’s efforts in getting the track raceable after all the rain on day one.
