The race to be King at the Kings Royal at the Ian Boettcher Race Parts, Kingaroy Speedway, intensified on Friday night, with just five points separating the top three drivers after a further three rounds of heats were conducted on night two of competition.

Clint Noakes who led after the opening night, finds himself in third place, two points adrift of National Champion, Matty Smith, while Smith is just three points behind Brett Barron, who currently sits atop the leader-board.

Current King, Greg Worling is in eighth place on a stacked leaderboard.

Brett Barron made his intentions felt in the very first heat of the night, winning by more than ten seconds, with Matty Smith, Rodney Pammenter, Ashley Barron, Max Clarke, Johnno Collins and Greg Worling all record victories in the opening round.

After Kent Menzies won narrowly to commence the second round of heats, Clint Noakes won his third heat race of the weekend, to be followed by victories to Brock Atkins, Shane MacDonald, Brett Barron, Nick Cockerill and Justin Drew.

Drew would back up his heat twenty eight success, by winning heat twenty nine, with Peter Walters, Mark Raymont, Max Clarke, Clint Noakes, Nick Cockerill and Tony Coomber all recording narrow wins to round out the third round of qualifying heats on night two.

A series of knock-out dashes will be contested on night three prior to the main event, with finishing first and second a key to advancement for those who currently sit outside the top sixteen.
