Boxing Day just got better if you’re a Modified Sedan driver or fan, with the announcement that Carina Speedway in Bundaberg will host the $1,500 to win Pro1 Race Parts Modified Sedan Stampede alongside night one of the Super Sedan Summer Slam.
After the weekends announcement that the NSW Title in Sydney had been postponed to late in the season, Carina Event Manager Sean Butcher quickly sprung to life to put together this event for Modified Sedans.
“I love Modified Sedans and it just made sense to see if we can make this work for them alongside the Supers. Carina is back with a fresh approach and we want to bring the big events and the big divisions to town, to showcase our sport to the Bundaberg public and put on one bel of a show. We have a heap of new equipment, a pumping sound system and because of the great public support we’ve lifted the venue back to its glory days. Dave Preston, Barry Pearce and myself couldn’t have done any of this without such a great team of volunteers.”Butcher remarked.
The Pro1 Race Parts Stampede will pay the following:
1. $1,500
2. $500
3. $250
Everyone else that starts the night and doesn’t place in the top 3 will receive $100. The format for this event will be 3 x 8 lap heats and a 20 lap feature race.
This event will kick off a mini Modified Sedans ‘Summer of Speed’ that could pave the way of a similar concept throughout SEQ during the seasons ahead:
· 26 December – Carina Speedway
(Pro1 Race Parts Stampede)
· 27 December – Mothar Mountain Speedway
(supporting Super Sedan Summer Slam)
· 3 January – Archerfield Speedway
(Firecracker 1000)
Nominations for the Pro1 Race Parts Stampede and the other events will open in due course.
