Last night at the Latrobe Speedway – Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway Jack Pearce continued his incredible 2025/26 winning streak, this time claiming the win in what was the SSA Junior Sedan Tasmanian Title.

Pearce weas strong throughout the night, claiming two heat wins and a third place to qualify himself from pole position in the main event alongside Hunta Simpson. Victorian James Peacock and defending Tasmanian Champion Ryley Minehan would round out the second row.

As the twenty-five lap feature began Pearce was able to get the best of the start as behind him Peacock, Minehan and another Victorian in Brad Marshall went three wide for second.

Peacock got the best of the battle and settled into second ahead of Marshall, Simpson and Minehan, as Pearce continued to lead the field away. Peacock was able to catch the back of Pearce and would sit on the back of his bumper for the ensuring laps, waiting for a chance to get by.

Lap six saw Peacock intensify the pressure while Marshall also joined in on the battle, the three cars running line astern.

On lap nine Peacock went high, dove down low and got the nose underneath Pearce, the duo side by side until Peacock pulled clear as they came across the start finish line, Pearce now second ahead of Marshall while Simpson was right in the battle also.

Peacock was able to get through lapped traffic with ease while the rest of the front battle pack got stuck, allowing Peacock to build the gap on the rest of the field as Pearce, Marshall and Simpson continued to battle.

Lapped traffic continued to play its part, and with seven laps remaining the group got tangled up and the lapped car of Kyden Knight ended up facing the wrong way to bring out the first and only caution of the race.

The restart saw Peacock put back two positions for an infield pass earlier in the race, leaving Pearce to lead away Marshall and Pearce, with Minehan and Brookelyn Thompson rounding out the top five.

Pearce got away cleanly with Marshall right on his heels, while Peacock was now holding off a quickly advancing Minehan.

With two laps to go Peacock applied the blowtorch and pulled away, catching the back of the leaders with Pearce, Marshall and Peacock all running in very close quarters as the white flag flew.

The trio fought hard over the final lap and despite the pressure Pearce was able to hold strong, holding Marshall off by just 0.166 seconds, while Peacock came home third.

Jack will now focus his attentions on the mainland, about to embark on a trip West as he heads to the SSA Junior Sedan National Title to be held at the Esperance Speedway as the sole Tasmanian representative. Victorians Marshall and Peacock will also join him in what is truly going to be a National Title, the three drivers in the best possible form ahead of the big one!
