Brad Pascoe’s trophy collection for season 2025/26 just keeps growing, last night adding the SSA Super Sedan SA Title/Cowland 42 Memorial to his collection!
The win would be Pascoe’s fourth State Title for the season, having already nabbed the Queensland, Tasmanian and New South Wales Titles.
With last night’s show at Murray Bridge Speedway doubling as both the State Title and the Cowland Memorial, the distance would be 42-laps, with Dave Gartner starting from pole position after Pascoe elected to start from the outside.
Gartner held the lead through the opening two turns but Pascoe put his machine on the outside and swept by Gartner for the lead down the back straight.
Pascoe quickly set about extending his lead, but the race came under yellow conditions after just three laps when third placed Todd Atkins spun.
Pascoe led away Gartner and Brock Atkins on the restart, with Chris Hayden looking for a way past Atkins for third only to collect the fence.
Just two more laps would be completed before the yellows came out again as Paul Blenkiron spun in turn two.
Brock Atkins was able to dive under Gartner for second on the restart with a slidejob, but contact between the two saw Gartner back by for second, while Todd Atkins was able race his way back through the field into fourth.
Todd put the pressure on Brock and eventually got back by for third on lap fifteen but up front Pascoe was simply pulling away, while Gartner was cruising along in second.
Todd, running the lowline, then set about reeling in Gartner who was running on the highline, grabbing second with twelve to go, only for Gartner to immediately get back by the next lap.
The duo continued to run side by side and five laps later the same thing happened, but this time Todd held the position as lapped traffic also came into play.
Back up front though it was all Pascoe, going on to win by nearly three seconds ahead of Todd Atkins with Gartner claiming third. Brock Atkins and Ash Bergmeier rounded out the top five finishers.
