OLDFIELD LEADS OVERNIGHT POINTS!

Two Preliminary Features presented two epic races last night at Ellenbrook Speedway in the opening night of the KCLD Cleaning 40th Anniversary Brian Rose Memorial.

For the first time, the Preliminary Features have helped with the RDA 100 point scores, as Jamie Oldfield and Matt Iwanow were victorious in two races to remember.

It might have all been Oldfield in the Odd Preliminary Feature, but it was the race behind him that caught the attention of everyone.

Blake Iwanow tried his best in the early laps, leading the opening lap and throwing sliders with Oldfield. Still, he was slowly attacked by a group of cars, including those driven by Ben Norman, Linton Dickerson, Daniel Ameduri, Cody Avins, and Gavin Minty.

The younger of the Normans was able to get past Blake Iwanow, but contact between the two saw Norman spinning, collecting forward-moving Dickerson and Paul Briggs.

Dickerson was unable to continue, and the younger of the Iwanows was sent to the tail.

Oldfield would win comfortably as the battle went on strongly for the podium, with six cars all crossing the line under a blanket with Norman in second and Ameduri rounding out the top three.

In the Even Preliminary, Kayne Dellar would do everything in his power to try to hold Jake Hoath at bay, and was even helped by a yellow light for Heydon Hicks spinning. Still, the reigning Brian Rose Memorial winner had his sights on victory.

That would be all well and good until we race to the white flag and Matt Iwanow was on a charge to the lead.

Iwanow would grab the front as they started the final lap, but would have to fend off a slide job attempt from Hoath with a switch back to win from Hoath and Dellar in a night to remember for Street Stocks.

Racing gets underway again at 2pm this afternoon.
