Norman Heads Big Anniversary Field

Twenty five year old West Australian Street Stock Champion, Haydon Norman, heads and incredibly strong field of Street Stocks for the 50th Anniversary Event at the Make Smoking History, Bunbury Speedway this Saturday.

Norman will have to deal with both Michael Hamon and Jamie Oldfield, both former National Champions, and both have won numerous Feature events at the Bunbury venue.

Two times West Australian Champion, Wayne Thomson is also in the field, having first podiumed in a State Title in 1992. Since then, Thomson has finished third on four other occasions, including in last seasons Title, highlighting his longevity in the category.

Peter Herbert, Paul Bowman, Dave Watson, David Padmore and Evan Wakefield are also in the line-up, ensuring that the racing will be first class.

Ethan Genev will drive Phil Lycholits Holden in the event, while veteran Bob Wakefield who was voted Driver of the Year for 2017/2018, will also be in attendance.

Nine qualifying heats will be contested to determine the twenty starters in the Feature Race, over twenty laps.

Racing commences at 2.00pm WST.
