Toowoombas Nathan MacDonald has claimed the $1,000 winners cheque in round 2 of the Steering & Suspension Warehouse Modified Sedan Toowoomba Club Championship Series at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway.
MacDonald battled for the lead with early race leader Mick Shelford who looked to be on his way to yet another win this season, until his muffler fell off causing him to be black flagged from the event. MacDonald resumed in the lead and held of a number of challenges on another spectacular race track that allowed for drivers to run anywhere they wished. Darran Lester who had a tough run in the heats, charged form position thirteen to finish second narrowly ahead of a Rodney Pammenter and a lightning fast Shane MacDonald who wheeled in the leaders against the outside fence in spectacular fashion. Steve Jordan finished fifth ahead of Josh Crang, Corey Stein, Allan Nash, Tim Atkin and Max Clarke who rounded out the top ten.
It was a terrific night of racing, with nail biting finishes, endless passing and was an all round great show from the Modified Sedan division.
Modified Sedans return to Toowoomba next month on 23 November for the $3,000 to win PS Designer Hones Ultimate Pink Night Shootout that doubles as round 3 of Steering & Suspension Warehouse Club Championship Series.
