The next generation of speedway stars will take centre stage this weekend as @NorthlineSpeedway hosts the annual Next Gen Nationals, with a quality 14-car SSA Junior Sedan field set to battle for one of the Territory’s most prestigious junior events.
Leading the charge is defending Next Gen Nationals winner Bailey Chandler, who returns from Queensland looking to make it back-to-back victories after claiming the coveted event 12 months ago. Standing in his way is last year’s runner-up River Spitzbarth, who will be eager to go one better after narrowly missing out, while Kade Beurskens also returns after recording a top-five finish in last year’s event.
Recent form suggests the battle for the trophy will be as fierce as ever. Caiden Weaver heads into the weekend full of confidence after taking victory at the most recent Junior Sedan meeting at Northline Speedway, finishing ahead of Beurskens and Spitzbarth last month.
Beurskens has been one of the benchmark drivers all season, already claiming a feature race win at the Darwin venue, while Riley King has also stood on the top step of the podium during the current campaign.
With proven winners, rising stars and plenty of local knowledge throughout the field, the racing promises to be fast and unpredictable across the weekend.
