The Speedway Sedans Australia, Mental Racewear, National Street Stock Title at the Timmis Speedway, Mildura, is just eight days away, with a massive 134 drivers set to do battle in the second largest National Title in Australian Speedway history.
Lee Harrison from Caroline Springs will contest his second National Title after competing at Redline in 2016, where he finished just outside the top 100.
The thirty nine year old has been racing on and off since 2013 in his XF Ford Falcon but he will campaign his new EL Ford Falcon at the National Title.
I have just built a new car and raced just the once this year at Redline. I finished all heats and made the B main in the Duo Mobile Eliminator, he said.
It will be Harrisons first ever race meeting at the Timmis Speedway.
What I like about Street Stock is it is affordable (within reason) and there is always somewhere to race. I have grown up around tin top racing at the Thunderdome. I saw a mate running in Street Stock one day at Avalon and it went from there. I started with an old $1200 XF and ran it into the ground (or wall) and now I have built a new EL, Harrison said.
I am really looking forward to getting out there and learning more about my car and finishing all my heats. This will also be my first meeting with my old man watching, no pressure, he added.
Harrison would dearly love to improve on his finishing position from the last National Title.
