Steve Latham has stormed to his fourth Tazz Auto Shots Media Tasmanian Super Sedan Series victory of the season during round six of the series at Autoklene Hobart Raceway.
In the opening heat of the night Marcus Alexander continued his good run of form, moving from third on the grid to take the win. Brad McMaster crossed line second, ahead of David Nichols in third.
Wayne Dillon took out a hard fought win in heat two, after being hassled all the way by Corey Jetson in second, and Latham in third.
Latham was too strong in heat three, taking the win from Brendan Flynn in second, and Grant Hopkins in third.
Latham secured pole position for the twenty five lap main event and would be joined on the front row by Alexander.
Latham got the best of the start and took the lead into turn one. Latham led the opening lap from Alexander, Dillon, McMaster and Jetson rounding out the top five.
Latham and Alexander were setting a strong pace out front and put a big gap between themselves and the chasing pack before the opening caution of the race was out for a stricken Jetson.
Jetson entered turn three riding up on to two wheels, but was able to bring the car back down before major contact with the wall.
Latham sprung back out to the lead at the resumption from Alexander, Dillon, McMaster and Flynn.
Hopkins entered the top five, displacing Flynn to sixth.
There were plenty of battles right across the track as Latham and Alexander duked it out for the win.
Dillon, McMaster and Hopkins were in a three way dive over third position.
Latham was under immense pressure from Alexander, as the lead pair headed for lap traffic.
Alexander was all over the back bumper, but Latham executed his moves through traffic flawlessly to put the result beyond doubt.
Hopkins capitalised in traffic to take positions from McMaster and Dillon to take the final step on the podium.
Latham streaked away in the closing stages to record his fourth victory of the season. Alexander crossed the line second for his first podium finish of the season.
Hopkins rounded out the podium in third. Brendan Flynn finished fourth after a last lap incident between Dillon and McMaster.
Tim Johnson rounded out the top five, from Dillon in sixth. Robbie Bird was next across the line in seventh, ahead of Dwaine Sonners in eighth, Kaylum Eiszele in ninth and Nathan Howells rounding out the top ten.
The Tazz Auto Shots Media TSSS will return on Boxing Day to Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway for round seven and the time honoured Geoff Stagg Memorial.
