Press Release by Speedway Sedans Victoria

Tasmania’s Steve Latham is your overnight leader after three rounds of heats on night one of the Victorian Super Sedan Title, and North/South 50.

Mick Nicola Snr got his night off to the perfect start when he took the win in heat 1A. He led home his son Mick Nicola Jnr in second, and Tasmanian Wayne Dillon in third.

Rockhampton’s Matt Williams took out a strong win for the North in 1B. Williams was followed home by Tasmanian duo David Nichols in second and Corey Smith in third.

It was a South one-two-three in heat 1C when Ash Bergmeier scored the win. Bergmeier led home local hot shoe Lucas Roberts, and Latham who recorded his first podium of the evening.

The North were too strong in heat 2A, but the result was marred by a big roll over for Matt Williams. From the resumption New South Welshman Tyson Moon led home Queenslands Brad Pascoe, with Darren Giacometti rounding out the podium for the South in third.

Roberts scored his first win of the night in heat 2B. Roberts was too good for Northern duo Darren Anning, and David Musch.

Latham continued his good form in heat 2C with a win for the South. National Champion Matty Pascoe was chasing him down, but fell short crossing the line second, with Nicola Jnr rounding out the podium in third.

Bergmeier became the first dual heat winner of the night in heat 3A. Bergmeier was too strong for Tasmanian star Callum Harper, and Giacometti in third.

Nichols scored a commanding win for the South in heat 3B. Latham capped off his night with another podium crossing the line second ahead of New South Welshman Paul Kranitis in third.

Pascoe scored a massive eight second win in the final heat of the night. Pascoe led home South Australian duo Paul Blenkiron in second, and Dave Gartner in third.

Tomorrow night the top eight will get hot laps, before a bronze/silver/gold shootout. Qualifiers nine through sixteen will run a fifteen lap last chance to move forward race. The remaining drivers will run a B Main to set positions seventeen through twenty two for the fifty lap main event.
