Steve Latham has led from start to finish in the twenty five lap A Main for Round Two of the Walsh Marine Services Tasmanian Super Sedan Series.
Wayne Dillon continued his strong start to the season taking out heat one. Latham came out on top in a good battle with David Nichols in heat two, and Tasmanian Champion Callum Harper was victorious in heat three.
Latham would start the A Main from pole position with Harper on his outside. Latham made a strong start with Harper, Dillon and Nichols all in pursuit.
The yellow light was out on lap eight, and on the restart Nichols moved by Dillon for third. Harper continued to apply the pressure to Latham, but Latham was able to thwart any attacks coming his way.
A big crash on lap fifteen forced a number of cars from the race with Andy Russell, Robbie Bird, Aaron Dillon, Lucas Dillon and Jayden Triffett all being forced to retire. On the restart Nichols was able to jump Harper and move into second place, only for another caution light to come on.
On the restart Nichols again launched into second, but Harper was able to launch around the top side of the track back into second place.
Harper surged onto the back of Latham, but it was to no avail as Latham recorded his first win of the season.
Dillon earned back to back podiums after passing Nichols around the outside, and Laura Davidson would round out the top five after starting from the back of the pack.
Super Sedans Tasmania next meeting will be the time honored Geoff Stagg Memorial which will double as Round Three of the WMS TSSS, and the Buckby Motors Super Sedan Allstars Night One at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway on Boxing Day.
