Mount Barker’s Rob Knox has made an immediate impact on the 2021/2022 WA Super Sedan Series after claiming victory in the twenty lap A Main for Round Two of the tournament held last night at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway.
Have recently acquired the ex Warren Minshull Dominator, Knox survived a first corner multiple car binge to claim his first main event victory with the series.
Polesitter Kyle Larson aboard his W10 Predator lead the early laps of the decider from Lee Aylett and Western Australian Champion Gary Higgs.
Higgs was by Aylett on lap three before the W4 spun across the front of the field in pits corner leading to another bingle between multiple cars.
Aylett would take no further part in the race as a number of cars were showing battle scars from the opening few circulations.
Unfortunately for Higgs he was penalised two positions during the stoppage as Larson lead the field to the green flag with seventeen laps remaining from Knox, Adrian Geary, Higgs and Nathan Walton aboard the W18 Dominator the top five.
It would take just three laps before Rob Knox hit the lead with outstanding pass on Larson as Higgs and Walton then began to pressure Larson for second place.
Both Higgs & Walton found a way past Larson in the concluding stages as Rob Knox drove away from the field to record a nearly four second victory as he set the quick time of the race on lap fifteen.
Higgs crossed the line narrowly ahead of Nathan Walton who was substituting for the injured Dustin Higgs third from Larson, Geary, Kevin Bell, Adyme Harvey and Dean Trotter the finishers.
Post race Gary Higgs was disqualified from the results elevating Walton into second and Kyle Larson claiming the final spot on the podium.
The WA Super Sedan Summer Series continues on Saturday 18th December 2021 at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway.
