Darren Kane has fired a warning to his rivals in the lead up to this seasons National Title, after he drove away from the opposition on Saturday night, as Sydneys Valvoline Raceway, the host venue for the 2017/2018 Speedway Sedans Australia, National Super Sedan Title.

Kane started the twenty five lap main event on the front row with Lachlan Onley, while Lucas Roberts and Sam Roza would start from row two.

Kane immediately jumped to the lead while Sam Roza slipped right back through the field in a congested opening lap.

Lucas Roberts from Victoria moved to third, but that would be short lived as Ryan Alexander seized on an opportunity, passing Roberts on lap four to move to third. Ian Brims moved through the field, passing Roberts on lap ten to move to fourth, all the while, Kane moved further in front. Roberts would eventually slip back through the field and fail to finish.

Corey Smith from Tasmania did not qualify well, starting from the seventh row, made consistent moves to systematically move through the field, passing Peter Nicola to claim fifth with four laps remaining.
Kane was consistently quicker than every car on a very fast race track, to cruise to a comfortable victory. Lachlan Onley finished well clear of Alexander who finished just ahead of a fast finishing Ian Brims (0.118), with Smith, Nicola and Steve Latham the only drivers to finish all twenty five laps.

Earlier Lucas Roberts and Steve Lathan would win the opening two heats, before Darren Kane won heat three, setting a staggering lap time of 14.632, the quickest lap of the night, with Lachlan Onley taking the final qualifying heat.
