Steve Jordan has won a thrilling feature race in Round Six of the McCosker Super Sedan Series by just 0.001 of a second at Gympie’s Mothar Mountain Speedway on Saturday night.
Having started fourth Jordan passed pole sitter Sean Black and Trent Wilson on the start before passing Josh McLaren down the main straight to have the lead on lap two.
Yellow lights were out on lap three and from the resultant restart Black passed McLaren on the outside for second. Trent Wilson passed McLaren for the final podium spot and would set out after the leaders.
With the laps dwindling down Jordan and Black were on the tail of lap traffic which allowed Wilson to close in.
Jordan was hanging tough in the lead with just a couple of car lengths separating the top three as they greeted the white flag.
Jordan held on by the barest of margins in a wild photo finish, besting Black by just one thousandth of a second with Wilson just a couple of tenths back in third.
McLaren held on for fourth, and Michael Hally rounded out the top five in his first night out in his brand new Sweet Chassis.
