In a night full on action, Port Hedland Junior Sedan driver Hunter Downs has won the Neville Hampton Memorial at Newman’s Hillview Speedway.

Downs took the overall points win over the two nights from Production Sedan’s Daniel Flavel and Leigh Beecroft who tied on points.

Junior Sedan A-Main was a lung buster with Donny Davis and Hunter Downs going hard at it for the win. Downs got the early race lead with Davis hard on his tail.

Mid race was when the event got really interesting as the two drivers come into contact and none of them giving an inch, Davis was able to get past and take the win ahead of Downs with a very impressive Zakiya Costa rounding out the podium.

Leigh Beecroft had his luck go from bad to good during the Production Sedan A-Main, spinning on his own while leading. Daniel Flavel hit the front on the restart but it only lasted three laps as Beecroft went around the outside in sight of the flag to take the win ahead of Flavel and Bearnie Matkovich.

The exciting part of the night happened in the opening heat race of the Production Sedans when Ken Melvin went upside big in turn three, Melvin was able to get out of the car unharmed.
