The stage is set for one of the biggest weekends on the Western Australian Street Stock calendar, with the 2026 Brian Rose Memorial set to roar into action at Ellenbrook Speedway this Saturday and Sunday.
First contested in 1973, the Brian Rose Memorial has become one of the most prestigious events in the division, with a place on the honour roll carrying enormous significance. This weekend, a stacked 43-car field will battle it out in pursuit of one of WA speedway’s most coveted trophies.
Leading the charge is former WA Champion Jake Hoath, who has the opportunity to write himself into the history books. Having claimed victory in the last two editions of the Brian Rose Memorial, Hoath is aiming to become just the third driver ever to win the event three years in succession.
Standing in his way is one of the two men who has already achieved that remarkable feat. Eleven-time Brian Rose Memorial winner Jamie Oldfield returns to the event looking to add yet another chapter to his incredible record. Oldfield’s most recent triumph came in 2022, and the veteran will be eager to return to the top step of the podium.
The field is packed with former winners and champions, including 2023 victor Cody Avins, 2019 winner Hayden Norman and dual Brian Rose Memorial champion Daniel Ameduri, who claimed back-to-back victories in 2012 and 2013.
Last year’s podium finishers Matthew Iwanow and Kayne Dellar are also back in search of going even better, while Ben Norman, Damon Lyall and Peter Herbert have all previously stood on the Brian Rose Memorial podium and will be hoping this is the year they finally break through for victory.
Current season form also points to a fiercely contested weekend. Brooke Oldfield, Blake Iwanow, Ben Norman and Michael Moltoni have all celebrated Street Stock feature race victories at Ellenbrook Speedway this season, while proven front runners including Matt Hammond, Ethan Cooper, Trent Claybrook and Damon Thomson add even more depth to an already impressive field.
With established stars, former winners, rising talent and one of the richest histories in WA Street Stock racing all coming together, fans can expect two days of intense racing as another chapter is added to the proud legacy of the Brian Rose Memorial.
Who will join the honour roll, and can Jake Hoath make history with a third straight victory? The answers will come this weekend at Ellenbrook Speedway.
