Western Australian Super Sedan Champion Gary “Dusty” Higgs has lead every lap of the main event for the 2021 Super Sedan Stampede held on Sunday Night at the Kalgoorlie International Speedway.

“Dusty” lead home his son Dustin Higgs and Kyle Larson who won the preliminary A Main on Saturday Night at the end of the thirty lap finale, with the SSA Super Sedans putting on a great two nights of action at the Goldfields venue.

Tristan Green aboard the Toyota powered TRG Automotive W6 shared the front row with Gary Higgs for the main event with Green quickly settling into second place before spinning on lap four causing the first stoppage of the race.

Former Western Australian Champion Rob Bawdon became the first retirement of the race on lap ten as Gary Higgs got out to a handy lead over Dustin Higgs, Kyle Larson, Steve Schofield and Adyme Harvey.

Murray Iwanow who was aboard the second of the Demon Fibreglass entries for the weekend would spin on lap twelve in turn two as the yellow lights came on once again.

The final eighteen laps went through to the chequered flag without a stoppage with Gary Higgs leading home his son Dustin by 1.7 seconds, with Kyle Larson a further 2.1 seconds back in third place.

Steve Schofield who sat in fourth place for much of the race came to grief within sight of the finish allowing Adyme Harvey to come home in fourth with local Kalgoorlie competitor Dean Shore rounding out the top five.

Super Sedans WA are already in discussions to return to the Kalgoorlie International Speedway for the 2022 Super Sedan Stampede.
