Callum Harper has taken out his second feature race of the season by winning Round Four of the Walsh Marine Services Tasmanian Super Sedan Series at Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway Latrobe.
Harper was victorious in both of his heat races to earn himself pole position for the feature race. David Nichols and Adam Beechey also took out a heat race each, with Beechey grabbing a second placed finish in his other heat race to join Harper on the front row.
Beechey won the start on the top of the track and set off to an early lead, with Harper and previous night winner Steve Latham giving chase.
Beechey led the first four laps, but on lap five spun out in turns one and two giving up four spots before rejoining in fifth position.
Harper benefitted from Beechey’s spin setting off into the lead. Latham and Corey Smith set out after Harper.
Latham was beginning to reel in Harper when the yellow light came out for Smith in an incident with a lap car.
From the restart Harper would run away to victory untroubled.
A final lap incident in lapped traffic robbed Latham of a deserved podium finish.
Beechey recovered from his earlier spin to finish second, and Smith crossed the line in third to earn his first podium of the season.
