Callum Harper has dominated to sweep the competition during Round Nine of the Tasmanian Super Sedan Series brought to you by Ian Boettcher Race Parts at Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway in Latrobe.
The team at Latrobe produced a super fast race track that produced great racing all night long.Corey Smith made his first start since the Grand Prix, and was in great form at the drop of the green flag, taking the win in heat one.
Luke Gunn crossed the line just behind in second, with Dwaine Sonners rounding out the podium in third.
Harper kicked off his night with a commanding win in heat two. Leon Cleary would cross the line second, just ahead of Laura Davidson in third.
Wayne Dillon backed up his feature win last weekend, with a dominant heat race win in heat three.
Smith would cross the line second to secure a front row start for the A Main, and Grant Hopkins rounded out the podium in third.
Harper absolutely dismantled the field in heat four, winning by almost five seconds from Robbie Bird in second, and Davidson in third.
Harper would be joined on the front row for the thirty lap main event by Dillon, after Smith was unable to take his place in the feature race following mechanical failure in his second heat.
Harper and Dillon duked it out into turn one, with Harper coming out of turn two in the lead. Dillon would settle into second, followed by Davidson, Gunn and Hopkins in the top five.
Harper would gap the field, building a strong advantage in the early stages.
Dillon would hold down second position until lap ten when he spun in turns one and two. Dillon would do a full 360° spin and keep the car going to fall to fifth.
Remarkably Dillon would spin again in turns three and four on the same lap to fall back to eighth position.Davidson inherited second, and Gunn was hot on her hammer in third.
Gunn built up the momentum on the top side of the track, and would go right around the outside to take second position.
It would be short lived for Gunn, as his right rear tyre let go coming out of turn four, sending Gunn hard into the main straight wall ending his race on lap eleven.
At the resumption Harper would stretch his legs and build a big lead over Davidson in second, and Hopkins in third.
Hopkins race would end on lap twenty five, relinquishing third position.
Harper again ran away over the final five lap stretch to record a perfect night and his fourth feature win in Tasmania for the season.
Davidson crossed the line in second, equaling her best finish of the season, and Bird would round out the podium in third.
Marcus Alexander crossed the line fourth, ahead of Dillon in fifth. Dillon would receive a post race penalty, relegating him to seventh, and promoting Nathan Howells to fifth.
The Tasmanian Super Sedan Series will wrap up next weekend with the Grand Finale brought to you by BlackAzz Asphalting at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway.
