Callum Harper has picked up another big pay day, by taking out the $3000 to win Fireball Challenge at Murray Bridge Speedway!
Harper would go through heat race action undefeated to earn himself pole position for the thirty lap feature race. Mick Nicola Jnr, Kym Jury and Mitchell Rigney would also take out a heat race each.
Nicola Jnr would join Harper on the front row for the feature race. Harper and Nicola would run side by side for the first lap and a half with Nicola getting the best of the exchange and taking the lead.
Tyson Moon ran in third with Paul Blenkiron, Jamie Collins and Jury all giving chase for the final position on the podium. Blenkiron would come unstuck on lap eight and exit the race from fourth position.
The war raged on at the front with Nicola and Harper slicing through lapped traffic. Harper would take the lead on lap fifteen capitalising on Nicola being stuck behind a slower car.
Nicola kept the pressure on being just a couple of car lengths behind Harper before the caution lights were out on lap twenty two for a spinning Danny Smith.
Harper was able to to thwart the challenge of Nicola over the final seven lap run to the chequers to record his sixth feature win of the season.
Nicola would run an impressive second ahead of Moon in third. Collins would cross the line fourth, with local Jury rounding out the top five.
