Two Time former Champion Callum Harper has gotten his quest for a third National crown off to the best possible start this afternoon at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool, setting the fastest time in official practice ahead of this weekends Hire Australia SSA Super Sedan National Title.
Harper’s time of 13.846 was set in the eighth session and is just below the official lap record time posted on the track’s website of 13.98 seconds, set in 2011.
Joining Harper in the thirteen second bracket were three-time former champion Mick Nicola Snr with a 13.978 set in session six, while Tasmanian Brad McMaster also edged in with a 13.987 time in the same session.
Thirty sessions were conducted across the afternoon, with all forty-six drivers in the Title hitting the track to practice, even when times significantly slowed.
The top thirty-three drivers were separated by less than a second, with the whole field under two seconds apart.
Racing kicks off tomorrow afternoon with three rounds of heats, prior to the last round of heats and the finals on Saturday.
