Former Tasmanian and now Western Australian resident Matt Hammond has tonight gone fastest in official practice at the Murray Bridge Speedway ahead of this weekend’s MJS Tree & Stump 2026 SSA National Street Stock Title.
Hammond recorded a blistering 17.050 second lap in the nineteenth practice session of the day, with the track getting faster as the afternoon went on and Hammond putting his #4 machine right up against the wall.
Next best overall was a group of youngsters: Victorian River Paterson with a 17.314 in session twenty-four, former Junior Sedan National Champion Jaiden Santin with a 17.322 in session twenty-two and defending National Champion Nathan Thorne tying with Matt Nelson for fourth overall with a 17.366 second lap each.
In total twenty-eight practice sessions were held with ninety-four of the one hundred and eight competitors in the Title choosing to practice, with the top fifty-eight cars separated by less than a second.
Action kicks off tomorrow afternoon with three rounds of heats, with all the action available on Clay-Per-View.
