The Allwest Plant Hire Ellenbrook Speedway located in the northern suburbs of Perth officially got back underway today and in what was an incident free day, there was plenty of spectacular racing across three SSA divisions.

The Street Stocks would be the first feature race of the season and it was Hayden Norman who picked up where he left off last season, racing away to a dominant feature race win, finishing over half a lap ahead of younger brother Ben who finished in second.

The battle for second would actually be the best of the race, with Stefania Ameduri originally second, holding off Brendan Vanzetti, Norman and Ethan Cooper in a four car battle.

All four cars would spend time in second and third across the race but ultimately Ben Norman would get by Ameduri on lap nine, while Vanzetti would pass Cooper for third in the final few laps.

SSA Production Sedans were also on the program ahead of their National Title to be held at the venue in a few months time, while a number of cars in the field were doing some testing ahead of next months WA Title in Karratha.

Ricky Williams would outclass the field in the opening heat while Lawson Mayes would muscle his way to wins in the final two heat races to set up a pole position start in the fifteen lap feature.

Mayes started the feature race strongly, leading Josh Fraser, who started from position six, and Wayne Leviston early.

Jamie Higgs, coming from position eight, moved into third on lap four and set out after Fraser, eventually grabbing second on the eighth circulation, then into the lead the following lap.

Fraser and Mayes would not give up, pursuing Higgs, but in the end Higgs was too strong, defeating Mayes and Fraser, while current WA Champion, who spent the day starting from the rear as he tested his machine, grabbed fourth on the final circulation.

A huge twenty car field was on hand for the days New Star SSA Junior Sedan racing, with Noah Bain, Mitch Binning and Andre Clarke the standouts across the day.

The feature race was a hard fought affair with plenty of positional changes, but in the end Clarke came away with the win ahead of Binning and Bain, while in the Top Stars it was current WA Champion Beau Oldfield who raced away with a dominant win after current Victorian Champion and Australia #2 Kayne Dellar suffered an issue with his right rear tyre, seeing it collapse as he applied pressure to Oldfield for the lead.

Taj Vanzetti, who earlier recorded two heat race wins, came home second while Jayden Heelan put in a great drive to finish in third place.

The next race meeting at Allwest Plant Hire Ellenbrook Speedway will be held in a fortnights time, on Sunday the 29th of May, with the three aforementioned SSA divisions again featuring heavily.
