The 46th Annual Super Sedan Grand Prix gets underway tomorrow evening at the Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway located in Latrobe Tasmania, as the month of madness begins in earnest.
Although the number of interstate competitors is slightly reduced, some of Australia’s best Super Sedan pilots will be on the Apple Isle for the next three weekends.
Five former winners of the Grand Prix are in the field headed by defending champion Matt Pascoe who will campaign the N47 Sweet for the Moon Racing Team out of New South Wales.
Mick Nicola Sr (2000 & 2001), Dave Nichols (1994 & 2015), Callum Harper (2017 & 2019) along with the returning Lachlan Onley who won in 2014 are all former winners and strong chances for victory again in 2021.
The T14 Gen 5 Dominator of Adam Beechey has started the season strongly in Tasmania and enjoyed a strong win on Boxing Day in the Geoff Stagg Memorial.
Victorian’s Mick Nicola Jr and Jamie Collins along with South Australian Kym Jury round out the visiting contingent as they look to take home the five figure payday on offer for Australia’s richest Super Sedan event.
Each driver will contest three rounds of heat racing and a preliminary main event on night one before two more rounds of heats a pole shuffle and fifty lap main event on Saturday Night.
